There’s now another good reason to eat your vegetables! A recent US study has found that those who eat foods rich in lutein and zeaxanthin will have healthier eyes. These are nutrients that are especially found in leafy dark green vegetables. People who eat these types of vegetables are 35% less likely to develop the most serious type of Macular Degeneration (MD) – a sight-threatening disease of the retina. It’s easy to increase these nutrients by eating spinach or broccoli. Often people report that they “don’t like them”, but that can be because they’ve been over-cooked. • Exercise regularly
  • Protect your eyes from UV damage
  • Eat a balanced diet with fish, and of course, those dark green leafy vegetables
