Feeling dizzy, unsteady, or like the room is spinning?
If all of this sounds familiar to you, there is a chance it could be your eyes! Your vision plays a huge role in your balance. In fact, your sense of stability…
I have been lucky enough to work for Canon Street Optometrists for almost three years now, the last two of which I have been working towards completing a two-year course to become a qualified Dispensing Optician.
I can now safely say I’ve completed my course and due to graduate at the end of October.
The NZ Dispensing Certificate consists of four block courses, held in Auckland, with exams and practical sessions, online study and assignments, as well as ongoing on the job training.
A Dispensing Optician is far more than a sales assistant and this is acknowledged by registering as a medical professional.
We learn the physics and mathematics behind prescriptions and lenses and although this is something we may not use every day, it gives us a much better understanding on how we can help our clients and give them the best options available.
I really enjoyed the course and can’t wait to utilise my knowledge helping our clients.
We have a fantastic team here and I hope there are more people out there who actually enjoy going to work every day like I do, the fact that we sell beautiful designer frames is just a bonus.
